It's season finale week for 3 of Gillinator's favorite shows: 24, Heroes, and Lost! Along with special guest Brittany, Ryan gives his reactions to the first two, and predictions for Lost right before it airs.
The Gillinator plays a clip from Arnold's appearance on "Pimp My Ride", gives an in-depth review of "Predator", and talks about the iPhone for a bit. He also can't decide whether these descriptions should be in 1st or 3rd person!
I cover a lot of ground this show with my iPod Shuffle review, Rayman's Raving Rabbids for Wii, updates on 24, Lost, and a new show called Drive, and 3 magazines with Arnold in them about his environmental toughness. Plus, a new catchy theme song!
This is a very Arnold-centric show, due to The Gillinator's amazing experience at the Arnold Classic in Columbus! Hear all about the booths, the rare collectibles, Arnold's speeches and corny jokes! It all culminates with a one-on-one encounter that is every Arnold fan's dream-- talking to da man himself!
Here's my first podcast! I ramble about a few things I'm into, like Arnold of course, and the TV shows Lost and 24. Very rough, but it's a must for collectors. Right.
Well, our adventure begins today-- Italy and Austria. If you'd like to see where we're staying in Thal, here's the website for
Thalersee. This will be a fantastic journey, and I can't wait to get back and give the first hand account on Arnold's boyhood village-- where the Oak was planted if you will!
Here we go!
Yes, here we go. It seems I forgot I had a website for a little bit-- my apologies.
Well, what better reason to start posting again than to tell about my plans to make the ultimate Arnold pilgrimage: his hometown of Thal, Austria. This little village is just outside the bigger town of Graz, and still contains Arnold's boyhood home, the castle he played around, the lake where he first witnessed and met bodybuilders, and other landmarks that haven't changed much in the past 56 years. Boy am I pumped! It's all planned as a nice excursion during a long trip my wife and I are taking to Italy. I mean, it's right there across the border, a mere 4 hours from Venice, so how can I not go?! Brittany thinks I plan trips so that I can see Arnold related things wherever we go, but she's the one who wanted to go to Italy! When we went to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, yes I had to go see "El Eden" the Predator set and restaurant, and it was fantastic! But now, to actually see where the Oak's roots started, this tiny village that is now the hometown of the biggest star in the world-- this will be a journey to remember! The only thing that would top it is if I ran into Arnold himself while I'm there!
We leave for Italy on May 19th, and the drive to Thal will take place on the 30th. I've got the course plotted and even a place to stay, although finding information on Thal is not as easy as one might think. Over the next weeks before the trip, I'll post about how I'm planning this and what I do know about Thal so far. Then prepare for the diary of my adventure when I return in June! Ja. Dat's good.
