Official Gillinator Review of T3

T3-- still smoking at the box office!

7.14.03
Here it is at last! Click here for my review of T3. Warning: it is a bit lengthy.
BOX OFFICE UPDATE:
Well, even though the more family friendly Pirates and Connery's League dethroned T3 from the top spot, it still held strong over Legally Blonde and took another 19.5 million over the 2nd weekend of release. Its total now stands at $110.3 million in the U.S., which already surpasses both Batman & Robin and Eraser's total domestic grosses. It is on target to do about $140 million domestically, but could do more if more word of mouth spreads and fans start going back to see it again, bringing more people along (hint hint)! It is also breaking records in the opening days in other countries and could easily obtain a worldwide gross around $400 million. If we all make sure this happens, it means Arnold will know his fans are out there and they want more so he will be more likely to do King Conan, T4, and he also just signed on for a new comedy at New Line called "Big Sir". Stay tuned for official announcements and my exclusive coverage of T3's premiere.

I AM BACK! T3's a Hit!

He's gonna need a bigger coffin!

7.6.03
I'm back from L.A. with great premiere footage and a head full of T3! I'm working on my official review, but let me say that I really do love this movie. In some ways, it's the best Terminator movie yet. YES!
Good job to all the fans so far for terminating the box office! The studio estimates put T3 at $72.5 million for its 5 day opening! This is the 2nd highest opening ever for an R-rated movie! But don't slack off-- see it again next weekend and bring as many friends as possible. The second weekend is the most crucial to not allow too much drop off like other summer movies have had. UNDER NO CONDIDTIONS SHOULD ANY ARNOLD FANS SEE A COMPETING MOVIE OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS! If your girlfriend/wife does drag you to Legally Blonde or you simply can't wait to see BB2, at least pay for T3 tickets then sneak into the other so you are still contributing to Arnold's success.

"Hasta la vista ring a bell?"

Desire is not irrelevant...
I am a GILLINATOR!

6.27.03
It is time indeed for the Gillinator to catch a plane and head from blustery Chicago to the sweet sunshine of L.A. I will be attending the premiere of T3 Monday night, decked out in full Gillinator gear, then go to a preview screening Tuesday night. Tickets are on sale NOW for Tuesday night across the country so get yours and see what is sure to be THE event movie of the summer. It will be so huge, the Hulk will be green with envy! See it several times, always paying full price for maximum box office impact! I will give my report and initial review when I return on Wednesday. I will also get to meet up with Randy Jennings again and most of the cast from my Gillinator movies, which I will be releasing on DVD so all of you out there can experience them while I work on G3: Rise of the Absurd. Don't worry, I'll be back!

T3 Soundtrack is out!

MP3s don't do it justice- you must buy this score!

6.27.03
The T3 Soundtrack with Marco Beltrami's score was released Tuesday, and like everyone, I was skeptical about how this new guy would do things. Would it be as classic as the previous two scores by Brad Fiedel and set the appropriate mood for a Terminator movie? Well, let me tell you it most certainly does! The new T3 theme has a haunting string line that is broken up by an increasingly pounding bass drum and a sound like a sliding chain, slowly building to a crecendo. It has the essence of Fiedel's work while still being totally original. The John Connor theme is very stirring as well, and is woven into other tracks. Marco also does his version of the Brad Fiedel Terminator music- it's a very rousing and heroic orchestral version, but it's over too quickly and you can tell he did it just to appease the fans. Honestly though, with how good his new theme is, I don't even care about the old one. The action cues are outstanding as well-- there's not just filler here, so many unique sounds and instruments are mixed in, that I can listen to the score straight through and not get bored or skip tracks (and I have several times!). This score gets me pumped for the movie even more, because it's a score like this that can elevate an "action" movie to an epic masterpiece. I also really like the song at the end entitled "Open to Me" which was also composed by Marco. If you haven't figured it out, I think this score is amazing work and very fitting for the Terminator series. Go buy it now and hear for yourself!

Arnold on Howard Stern

6.24.03
Arnold made a live in-studio appearance on Howard Stern's radio show yesterday. This is one of the rare radio shows he will do in person, and it was very entertaining. Arnold talked about getting his body ready for T3, what it's like to be Arnold's kids, and his eating habits. Both Howard and Robin say T3 is the best action movie this year. And here is the entire 40 minute interview for you to download!

Gillinator's T3 Poster Contest!

T3 is On the Rise!
6.10.03
In only 3 weeks, the machines will rise and T3 will be unleashed on the world! To prepare, I'll be kicking things into high gear with more T3 updates and news. Below is a banner link to an all-new T3 media player created by Buzztone that has some very cool features like a screensaver, trailer, and even fan stories from "Off the grid". Check it out!

The other BIG news is that the Gillinator himself will be attending the official T3 Hollywood premiere! I will be joined by my arch-nemesis the TED-2000, Josh "John Connor", and my old roommate Evan, and my CPU will be set to infiltration, stopping at nothing until I see Arnold and what will be the biggest movie of the year-- no, the biggest movie of ALL TIME! Be prepared for video feed and detailed files when I return.

In the meantime, enjoy the marketing explosion over the next few weeks! Check out Marco Beltrami's web page for the track listings and samples of the new T3 score, including a new version of the Terminator theme!

And buy yourself a copy or two of the official T3 magazine and comic book series from Beckett Comics! There's amazing photos, illustrations, stories, and interviews, including a one-on-one with Arnold done by my good pal Randy Jennings (jealous am I!). Get it NOW!

I'll be back with more... trust me.
